Belvédère des 4 Lacs - Jura: A Day of Stunning Landscapes
Exploring the Jura region in France led me to the Quatre Lacs trail, promising breathtaking views and serene lakeside scenes. Among the highlights was ascending le Pic de l'Aigle, offering panoramic vistas of the surrounding beauty.
As I hiked, the weather played tricks, veiling the landscape in mist before opening up with sunlight, accentuating the vibrant lake colors. It's a reminder that, when it comes to landscape photography, being outdoors even on the most unpromising days helps you create your own luck.
At the summit, le Pic de l'Aigle showcased nature's grandeur, from misty veils to radiant hues under the sun.
Descending, I marveled at tranquil lake reflections. Here are a few photography tips to get amazing reflection photos:
Seek Still Waters: Capture reflections during calm moments, usually in the early morning or late evening when the wind is gentle.
Play with Angles: Experiment with different perspectives, even lowering your camera to water level for striking compositions.
If you're visiting the Jura, the Quatre Lac hike is full of wild, grandiose landscapes, and I recommend it. All the details are easy to find online. It's quite accessible, with shoes that don't mind mud! I did it with my family, carrying my 3-year-old daughter, and my 5-year-old daughter was able to walk the whole way. It was my birthday, and I guess you could say I was spoiled!
